Artist Biography: Chiêu Đồng (1956-27.5.2018)

Chiêu Đồng was born in 1956 in Vinh Long Province. His hometown is located along the riverside of the Mekong River in southern Vietnam. He spent his entire childhood there.

The artist’s main skill is in collage art. Using colored paper and magazine covers, he tore and adhered pieces, step by step, until finishing, resulting in beautiful pictures.

In his artworks, we see the daily lives of Vietnamese people in the Mekong Delta area: school girls on their way to school, fishermen resting on their boats, a man with his cyclo at the end of the day, a dawn on the Mekong River… each scene is simple and quiet, yet beautiful and impressive.

He was a member of the Vinh Long Fine Art Association and participated in Fine Art Exhibitions in the Mekong Delta Area and Ho Chi Minh City, achieving success with prizes, awards, and attention from colleagues and viewers.
