A painting exhibition named Un-concentration by artist La Nhu Lan follows the artist’s late-night thoughts. The show that opened on Sunday at Phuong Mai Gallery, 129B Le Thanh Ton Street, HCMC’s District 1, features about 20 oil-on-canvas paintings.
The pieces are named according to the time of night that the artist had the feeling that inspired them. The names go from 11:45 p.m. to 5 a.m.
In the darkness of the night there are scattered bright dots or shining stars, while another painting shows clusters of white. Some paintings depict a deep loneliness or a soul being trampled.
“The darkness of the night studded with bright points that vaguely resemble a human face or body, puts my mind deep into thought, as if I am flying in the galaxy or lost in an infinite loneliness,” said My, a visitor to the exhibition.
The exhibition runs till November 20.
