2. How did you become an artist? What made you interested in art?
I became an artist naturally. What will be will be, I think so, and it’s really true to me. I had no idea when I started enjoying art and how much I love it until now. I only know that I have to create paintings and continue to do so.
3. What is your painting style?
At the moment, I’m pursuing the view of impressionism. I have been affected by artists who followed impressionism, such as Claude Monet and Bui Xuan Phai (Vietnam).
4. What is your inspiration? And who is your mentor or idol?
The natural world is not only the source of my inspiration, but also the consultant for my creation. Actually, I have no idols.
5. What makes you different and special compared to other artists?
In my opinion, any artist who is honest with themselves in their mind, actions, and heart is different from other people and colleagues. I believe in myself and understand what I’m doing. I can also see my colleagues’ paintings.
6. How do you view Vietnam and the outside world?
Vietnamese paintings are as beautiful and gentle as the Vietnamese people. I’m too small compared to the big world out there, so I have no comments on that.
7. What are your likes and dislikes?
I like things that are simple, smooth, pure, and bright. Besides, I do not like the peculiarity and deception.
8. Why do you utilize this medium or style?
Oil paints suit my strong feelings and allow me to express my diverse emotions in various ways. The view of impressionism suits my style most, at least at this time.
9. What are you trying to communicate through your artworks? If you have a common message or ideology for all of your works, please state it.
My artworks present my spiritual life in particular and the Red River delta’s residential community in general.
Being in nature is the best way to nourish our mental life.
10. Are there any hidden meanings or messages behind your artworks? Is it something political or personal…or some other feelings or thoughts?
I don’t mention politics in all my paintings.
The message I would like to transfer is the beauty. It must be there on the painting’s surface.
11. What are your ideology and views on art?
My landscape paintings are the call from what exists in obsession and desire.
12. Who are you and why should people purchase and collect your artworks?
I adore the beauty as well as the human sense of beauty. I try to draw more beautiful paintings with stronger feelings. In addition, they must deeply show the Vietnamese characteristics and highlight my own hallmark.
So I think everyone is purchasing my paintings and collecting my artworks because they love beauty as well.
